“We’ll Be There”

by Missy Strittmatter

I bet when you saw this post title you thought it was a tagline of ours, from Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin and Central Texas.  And it could be.  It is really something that we aspire to everyday:

  • To be there for families that need us in a moment of pediatric medical crisis.
  • To be open, to be present and to be available to help them through a harrowing and frightening time.

But this tag line actually comes from one of our most dedicated sponsors, The Austin Area Chevy Dealers.

You might remember this line from a series of ads that ran from 2001 – 2004.  The other big thing I remember in 2004 was joining the incredible team at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin and what soon followed: the building of our new House here next to Dell Children’s Medical Center.  What I also remember was a group of new donors that joined us in creating this magnificent House, the Austin Area Chevy Dealers.  They helped us build this House “Like a Rock” and they have stayed by our side as solidly today as they did when we poured the foundation.

Through programs, special events and leadership support, members of The Austin Area Chevy Dealers have had an impact on RMHC Austin as surely as Chevrolet has had on the American Highways!  Thank you for all you do for our families.

We are so lucky to have such strong supporters, like the Austin Area Chevy Dealers, and so many others. Together, we are all making a big difference in people’s lives!
