This week marks my fourth week serving as Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Austin and Central Texas. I am honored to be a part of the amazing team here as we work to create a home-away-from-home for families when their children are facing illness or injury. This week some very special angels chose to support the families of RMHC.
Sunday night marked the premiere of Angels Sing, a movie based on the book “When Angels Sing” by Turk Pipkin. This movie is a soon-to-be-holiday classic starring Harry Connick Jr., Connie Britton, Eloise DeJoria, Willie Nelson in the role of “Nick” and so many Austin musicians it would take this entire post to list them all! Many thanks to the film’s distributors, Cowgirl Up Entertainment and Lions Gate, for choosing Ronald McDonald House Charities to be the beneficiary of screenings here in Austin and around the nation!
This movie explores themes of family, creating memories and finding a place to call home. These themes are very close to our hearts at RMHC Austin as we work every day to create a stable and supportive home-like environment for families so they can concentrate on the most important thing of all – supporting their child through pediatric medical crisis. Thank you to all the Angels who supported us this week through the premiere!
